Every year in the week around the 24th of April, Fashion Revolution launches its week-long campaign. This year will mark 10 years since the Rana Plaza tragedy, which sparked this movement. On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza factory building in Bangladesh collapsed in a preventable accident. More than 1,100 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth-largest industrial disaster in history.

Last year we launched our #fridayfashionshift campaign during Fashion Revolution week. This year, we’re launching a month-long Nothing New campaign!

For the month of April, don’t shop for any new garments. Instead, transform an outfit from your own wardrobe, a charity shop or a swap event!

From the 17th to the 27th of April, we’ll be offering free live tutorials to help you transform your garment. Join our virtual fashion show on the 28th of April by sharing a photo or video of your revamped outfit on social media! Remember to use the #fridayfashionshift hashtag!

Check the scheduled tutorials below and keep an eye out on our Instagram or this page for updates on new tutorials being added! Tutorials will be delivered live via Zoom and the replay will only be available to Fibreshed Ireland members.

If you’d like to offer a free tutorial during these two weeks, please email us to fibreshed.ireland@gmail.com with the following details:

  • Name of the tutorial
  • A short description
  • An image of the project
  • Your website or social media

We’re looking for tutorials that are:

  • Between half an hour to 1 hour long
  • A simple, very actionable and valuable technique – but obviously don’t give away your secret sauce if you have a business!
  • You’re welcome to plug in your own offering (paid workshops, products, or services) in the last 5 minutes of the video call
  • Replay will ONLY be available to Fibreshed Ireland members
