Discover the fascinating journey of this humble plant—from seed to fabric—and the traditional tools and techniques used along the way: rippling, scutching, hackling, spinning and weaving.\nLed by Kathy, who has spent years researching and relearning these traditional methods, this workshop invites you to witness and participate in the revival of a vital skillset: the stages of flax processing. You’ll also learn about flax’s role in regenerative agriculture and crop rotation and its traditional and innovative uses: from sustainable textiles to ropes, composites, and beyond.\nSonia will be making paper and rope from flax and organising games and activities with children outside, inspired by traditional games.
